None of us are bold enough to reboot the Volcano Worshiper’s Hour, but we devise some interesting line-ups regardless. As long as it’s nerdy, we’ve got it all on NerdHF. A local creature feature host? Check. Classic 80s cartoons? Double check. Star Trek reruns? Of course. Angel reunion movies with David Boreanaz? Sure, why not. But wait, there’s more! Very cool idea! I'm going to work on my own TV schedule and Ill post it when done. I love old TV, and have a rather large collection of old TV shows/TV Blocks, most of it with the original commercials – I've been collecting them for a while now. It's really a fun hobby, any time I'm feeling a little down, I can pop in a block of Cartoons from a random Saturday in 1983 and it cheers me up in no time. Here's my weekend stuff:Saturdays (Programming 6:00am – 2:00am/ Public Access 2:00am – 6:00am Sunday)6:00am – 1:00pm = Cartoons from the 30s-90s. I’d start with early stuff like old Popeyes, Looney Tunes, and Bettie Boops, and then as each half-hour progresses go forward a decade or two to Hanna Barbera, Filmation, and on through to the WB stuff from the 90s like Animaniacs and Freakizoid.1:00pm – 3:00pm = Afternoon Horror Host with a spooky horror movie from the 30s-70s. Emphasis on Universal, Hammer, Val Lewton, Amicus, AIP, and indie stuff like Night of the Living Dead.3:00pm – 5:00pm = Get your butt moving hour with reruns of old American Gladiators and Double Dare episodes.5:00 – 7:00pm = Block of Sci-Fi/Fantasy shows from the 60s-90s (Buck Rogers, the various Star Trek series, the 80s/90s War of the Worlds, Highlander, Forever Knight, etc.)7:00pm – 8:00pm = Film Discussion roundtable show called Movie Night where 3-4 revolving hosts tackle discussing a film in depth.8:00pm – 10:00pm = Saturday Night Movie (the best most recent movie that UHF can snag, most likely at least 10 years old.)10:00pm – 2:00am = Horror/Weird movie double feature focusing on 60s-90s era gonzo films, 80s slasher, and edited for TV exploitation flicks. David Lynch, Tobe Hooper, etc.Sundays (Programming 6:00am – 10:00pm/ Public Access 10:00pm – 5:30am Monday)6:00am – 12:00pm = Cartoons from the 30s-90s. Puffinstuff, The Bugaloos, Sigmond and the Sea Monsters, etc.)9:00am – 9:30am = Forgotten 80s cartoon block (Spiral Zone, Denver the Last Dinosaur, Bionic Six, Galaxy High, etc. – Shows that don’t seem to have huge followings.)9:30am – 10:00am = Foreign Cartoons (Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Robotech, Gigantor, etc.)10:00am – 11:00am = Kidcoms from the 80s & 90s (Out of this World, Punky Brewster, Silver Spoons, Pete and Pete, Clarissa Explains it All, Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, etc.)11:00am-12:00pm = Sitcoms from the 60s, 70s, and 80s (Alice, Night Court, One Day at a Time, Soap, What’s Happening, Perfect Strangers, Gomer Pyle, USMC, etc.) 12:00pm – 1:00pm = Hour of Sketch Comedy from the 70s, 80s, 90s (Vacant Lot, The Young Ones, SCTV, SNL from the 70s-90s, Kids in the Hall, The State, Exit 57, Upright Citizens Brigade, etc.)1:00pm – 2:00pm = Afternoon Mysteries (Sort of Like PBS with Masterpiece Mysteries, 90s era Agatha Christie serials, Matlock, Rockford Files, etc.)2:00pm – 3:00pm = New show in the vein of the Bozo show from the 70s and 80s. Instead of the circus theme I’d go with monsters and monster hunters. Skits, audience participation games, and musical selections.3:00pm – 6:00pm = Syndicated Animation block with an ear towards action cartoons of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s (Star Trek Animated, 70s Godzilla animated, Hanna Barbera action shows like Herculoids, Johnny Quest and Mightor, Sunbow shows like G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Jem, He-Man, She-Ra, Bravestarr, etc.)6:00pm – 7:00pm = News/Talk Show in the vein of stuff you’d hear on NPR, so This American Life, All Things Considered type topics.7:00pm – 8:00pm = Classic Game Shows from the 70s and 80s.8:00pm – 9:00pm = Action oriented shows from the 80s and 90s (Airwolf, Knight Rider, A-Team, Star Trek the Next Gen, Due South)9:00pm – 11:00pm = Evening movie with some sort of host. Someone like Joe Bob Briggs who’d introduce and dissect all sorts of fun action and genre flicks (kung fu, man on a mission, blaxsploitation, adventure, fantasy and sci-fi from the 50s-90s.)11:00pm – 12:00am = Hour long block of spooky anthology shows (Monsters, Tales from the Darkside, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Tales from the Crypt.)
